Obama condemns Graft but America runs on Lobby money

It is always strange to read about how the banks, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and all the major industries use money power to influence the outcome of what is happening in the USA. The Health Care issue and how much medicines will cost under it reflects this. The moves but the pharmaceutical industry to influence the outcome was clear and documented and the moneys and support given to the Democrats changed as the deals between the administration and the industry were worked out. Is this so much different to the graft Hamid Karzai seems to be accused of fostering in Afghanistan? Who steals and who is paid off is the way of the present.

Obama visits Afghanistan and tells his troops they will defeat the Taliban but also with his advisers is considering if the Taliban should be coaxed to the table and into the current government there. What is the deal that will make this happen and will we call it graft or just the price of new friends. Without graft there would be no government in Afghanistan and there is clear evidence that in America government is bought and controlled by vested interests. In the end both are the same.

Our ethics in America and worldwide are in shambles and it is no use calling the kettle black when greed is the underlying credo of both governments and money abounds from the powers who want to get their way. In Afghanistan it flows from Government and Obama's administration carps about it because it is their money and their embarrassment. In the USA it flows from the multinational corporations to the bureaucracy and downward to the contractors. In both cases it is the ordinary folks, you and I, who suffer. Under the name of democracy we are led to believe that the vote gives us power but at this point in the venture that does not seem to be true.

The world at large is being badly served by both democracy and the capitalistic system. Whether Capitalism will ever really be the way to a stable and fair system of business is a real question. Its object is money in the pocket and we have come to a time when most people agree that the multinational Corporations are running the world and use persuasion money to enhance their power. Whether it is money for campaigns to persuade people to vote for a candidate or money to moderate how much the health care plan will affect the pharmaceutical corporation's profits it matters little. In the end the people suffer the consequences.

As governments privatize more and more of what we always thought belonged to the people and were essential to the people is gone. What has happened is more cost to us with less security. The governments have become just money collectors for others and we get no real governing at all.

It seems clear that the idea of one world is a splendid one but for the major players like the banks and the large corporations it is optimal for it reduces the table to one player and a bunch of pawns to be played as they wish. The citizens of the world are being decimated from my perspective. Our welfare is really on the back burner and profit at any cost is where it is at today. Can we change this?

Only revolution seems to be able to change these things unfortunately. I neither advocate or embrace this but if real reform of our ethics is not forthcoming then revolution is all that is left to exact change.

Sir Wiliam Osler to the rescue.

I was in a heated debate with an eminent doctor about Homeopathy and I sent him a quote by Sir William Osler. Here it is.

THE GREATER THE IGNORANCE THE GREATER THE DOGMATISM.
DR. WILLIAM OSLER, CHAUVINISM IN MEDICINE 1902

The doctor's answer was as follows.
"Funny you should quote Osler to me. He was one of Medicine's first scientifically oriented clinicians basing his ideas on observation research and the brilliant pathological studies of Rudolph Virkow.
He knew that homeopathy was bunk and said so along with comments about phrenology etc. ..."

I looked up Sue Young's site http://homeopathy.wildfalcon.com/ The site has histories of all the famous men who used Homeopathy or said something about it. It is surprising the famous people who used and spoke well of Homeopathy. Press search and enjoy... Below is what I found for William Osler to refute the eminent doctor's prejudicial and blind response to my first quote from Osler's book Chauvenism and Medicine 1909

William Osler 1849 – 1919

William Osler, Time Online - “Founder Hahnemann was given his historic due by no less a personage than Sir William Osler. “No individual,” said Dr. Osler, “has done more good to the medical profession than Samuel Hahnemann.”

Harvey Cushing The Life of William Osler P. 171

“His belief that over-treatment with drugs was one of the medical errors of the day has been hinted at, and it was always one of his favorite axioms that no one individual had done more good to the medical profession than Hahnemann, whose therapeutic methods had demonstrated that the natural tendency of diseases was toward recovery, provided that the patient was decently cared for, properly nurses, and not over-dosed.”

Hans J Eysenck on William Osler

“It is more important to know what kind of person has a disease than what kind of disease a person has”

William Osler A Concise History of Medicine

“One notable example is typhoid fever. At the outset of the nineteenth century it was treated with ‘remedies’ of the extremest violence–bleeding and blistering, vomiting and purging, and the administration of antimony and mercury, and plenty of other heroic remedies.

“Now the patient is bathed and nursed and carefully tended, but rarely given medicine. This is the result partly of the remarkable experiments of the Paris and Vienna schools in the action of drugs, which have shaken the stoutest faiths; and partly of the constant and reproachful object lesson of homeopathy.

“No regular physician would ever admit that the homeopathic preparations, ‘infinitesimals,’ could do any good as direct curative agents; and yet it was perfectly certain that homeopaths lost no more of their patients than others. There was but one conclusion to draw– that most drugs had no effect whatever on the diseases for which they were administered.”

William Osler

“It is not as if our homeopathic brothers are asleep; far from it, they are awake (many of them at any rate) to the importance of the scientific study of disease.

“It is distressing that so many good men live isolated in a measure from the great body of the profession. The grievous mistake was ours: to quarrel with our brothers over infinitesimals was a most unwise and stupid thing to do.” and “Our homeopathic brothers pursue very seriously the scientific study of disease.”

William Osler

“Variability is the law of life, and as no two faces are the same, so no two bodies are alike, and no two individuals react alike and behave alike under the abnormal conditions which we know as disease.”

William Osler

“The greater the ignorance the greater the dogmatism.”

William Osler

“All scientific truth is conditioned by the state of knowledge at the time of its announcement.”

William Osler

“I fear that we may return to the state of polypharmacy, the emancipation from which has been the sole gift of Hahnemann and his followers….”

William Osler

“But, fortunately for medicine, some hundred and fifty years ago Hahnemann appeared…”

Dr. Osler not only recognized Homeopathy and Hahneman, he recognized the hate that ignorance could generate. I find that this kind of blind hate is still alive; this inordinate resistance to honest investigation.

I also find that there is a growing community who are using and examining Homeopathy and it includes many doctors, scientists, artist and everyday folk. Homeopathy is the medicine of the 21st Century.

Now have to band together to stop Pharmaceuticals from weakening our immune systems and harming our emotions and minds with the medicines they sell that have debilitating side effects.

Diabetes Case Shows Pitfalls of Treatment Rules NY TImes

I am still learning how to reprint articles and I am sure in future I will improve. The article shows clearly that all people suffering similar symptoms cannot be treated in a single preordained way. Homeopathy recognizes each patient as unique.

It is clear in the article that the Pharmaceutical Industry is being challenged for conflict of interest by sitting on Boards that decide what is good and bad for the public.

It is a scary story for people started to die and the program was or is being withdrawn.

Diabetes Case Shows Pitfalls of Treatment Rules

By BARRY MEIER

It sounds like a simple idea for improving health care: draw up guidelines on how best to treat a particular illness and then pay doctors to follow
them. That strategy, which some insurers and health plans already employ, has been embraced during the health care debate by some lawmakers in Congress who want to extend it more broadly.

The goal is to improve treatment and, at the same time, save money. But setting guidelines that are good for every patient, it turns out, can get messy, with some experts warning that a big national plan of this sort poses risks. A recent case involving treatment for diabetes, one of the nation’s most pervasive illnesses, illustrates the difficulties.

Last year, a national guideline-setting group abruptly withdrew a controversial diabetes standard it adopted in 2006 that called for aggressive control of blood sugar, or glucose. The change came after a large federal study indicated that lowering glucose too quickly or too much in some patients could harm or even kill them.

In medical journal articles and elsewhere over the last year, some diabetes experts have lashed out at the group’s initial decision to approve the guideline, saying they warned back in 2006 that it was medically ill-advised for some patients.
“This was a case in which the advocates of a disease got caught up in their disease rather than the interests of patients,” said Dr. Rodney A. Hayward, a diabetes expert at the University of Michigan who had opposed the benchmark.

Critics like Dr. Hayward have also suggested that pharmaceutical companies influenced the guideline so they could sell more glucose-lowering drugs like insulin. The group that set the guideline, a Washington organization called the National Committee for Quality Assurance, received about $3 million, or 10 percent of its revenue, last year from drug and medical device makers. The group’s officials, and several outside experts who advise it, rejected such suggestions of industry influence. Still, some experts question why the group, which sets standards that are widely used by insurers and private health plans, should take even small amounts of drug-industry money.
“There should not be any industry funding of a group that is involved in working on national guidelines,” said Dr. Jerome E. Groopman, a professor of medicine at Harvard.

To many experts, the diabetes case shows how setting one guideline that works for all patients suffering from the same disease can be tricky. The main problem is that many guidelines are based not on rigorous studies like clinical trials but on weaker types of medical evidence. And critics like Dr. Groopman have argued that the guideline-setting process is often influenced by industry or by medical ideologues looking to advance their personal agendas.
“These guidelines often come out of specialty societies who tend to want to treat rather than not to treat,” said Arthur Levin, the executive director
of the Center for Medical Consumers, a patient advocacy group. Mr. Levin also serves as an adviser to the National Committee for Quality Assurance and took part in the diabetes decision.

The diabetes controversy began after several studies showed that patients with diabetes could significantly benefit from tighter control of their blood sugar. As a result, in 2005, the American Diabetes Association, along with others, began urging the National Committee on Quality Assurance to adopt an aggressive glucose control standard. The group’s guidelines are used by insurers and others to assess the performance of
doctors who work for them and, in some cases, to determine whether they qualify for a bonus.

On its face, the glucose proposal made sense. Excess levels of glucose can cause some of the worst complications of diabetes, including blindness and kidney failure. But lowering glucose too much can also create problems for some patients, particularly older, sicker ones, causing them to black out or to have seizures.

Pointing to such risks, some doctors like Dr. Hayward, who also works for the Veterans Administration, opposed extending the guideline too broadly. They said that one significant group of diabetics, those who also had heart problems or cardiovascular disease, had never been studied during the trials that showed the benefits of aggressive glucose control.

But supporters of the move, like Dr. Richard Kahn, then a top official of the American Diabetes Association, rejected such arguments. Dr. Kahn argued that even if the standard were adopted, doctors would still have plenty of discretion about how to treat their patients. “All of us can no longer sit silently thinking that our discipline is unified toward improving diabetes care,” he wrote in a 2006 e-mail message as the argument unfolded.

In mid-2006, a panel assembled by the National Committee for Quality Assurance that included insurers, major employers, doctors and Mr. Levin, the patient advocate, unanimously approved the new standard. Critics like Dr. Hayward were furious and later said they believed that diabetes experts with drug-industry ties had played a role in guiding the decision.

Both Mr. Levin and another adviser to the quality committee — Dr. Paul Wallace of Kaiser Permanente, the big health care provider — said they saw no evidence of that. Also, officers of the National Committee for Quality Assurance insist that medical products companies, who sponsor some of the group’s activities, do not play a role in setting its treatment standards. The diabetes standard was not in place for long. It was challenged last year when federal researchers abruptly halted a study of glucose control in older diabetics with cardiovascular disease, the group not previously studied.

In that trial, researchers aggressively treated patients with a variety of drugs in an effort to bring their glucose down to the level of a person without diabetes, but patients receiving the treatment started dying at an unexpected rate.

In light of the findings, the National Committee for Quality Assurance withdrew its standard and convened an expert panel that this time included critics like Dr. Hayward. A year ago, the group issued a more nuanced guideline that, among other things, exempted patients over 55 years old with heart or cardiovascular problems.

Those who opposed the initial measure, like Dr. Joseph Selby, a research director at Kaiser Permanente, feel their position has been vindicated. They see a straightforward lesson from the episode: faulty guidelines can pose risks to patients, particularly when linked to doctors’ pay, which is an idea under consideration in Washington.
If such treatment guidelines are created “in the absence of good evidence,” Dr. Selby said, “you risk perversion or even harm.”

Cars, water, gas and Murray

Summer was special for me when I was growing up. We had a cottage at Cedar Springs about 18 miles from Hamilton Ontario. Out in the country where the Credit river runs through a valley of cedars. There were 80 wooden cottages spread around a one mile ring road in amongst the cedars. It was pure fun. We had a 9 hole golf course, two tennis courts, a barn that was a community hall and the river was dammed up so we could swim. Tons of kids. 1946 or 47 is when Murray Schwenger got a nice old 1925 or 30 sedan. What a ball. Dust roads and tooling about.

Murray knew all about cars and would tinker with it all the time. Once he added a device he made to drip water into the carburetor to see if the car would still run and if he could save gas. He tried it several times and if we were going fast enough he could add water and we could still drive but when he accelerated to go up a hill it would be slower and sometimes the engine would conk out. He did save gas but the care did not run as efficiently.

I was thinking about that today when I was trying to explain what I feel is wrong with most pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines in the human body. They do give you more life but you do not operate at your best capability. Unlike the water in the gas idea we humans can’t turn off the drug tap so easily and often can’t get rid of the effects and side effects of the drugs. Often they just stay with us and so we end up not running very well. Our quality of life is sometimes compromised forever and we never know when the hill will come along and we will conk out so to speak.

The body is a marvellous creation and meant to run as it was made. We have inside ourselves all the tools necessary to keep it going and healthy. If we do get sick there are ways to heal that will not leave us compromised. Rest, exercise, and proper diet have to be a given but if help is needed then Homeopathic remedies and/or Bach Flower remedies will help us get back on track safely. They have no side effects unlike most pharmaceuticals and leave nothing behind to compromise our systems. Think about it.

On keeping balance

On one of my first flights into Toronto the plane took a long sweeping turn as it got in line for the landing. When the plane leveled off I did not and so thought the plane was not horizontal to the ground. I was in panic for I thought we would crash for sure. I did not know if I should yell to alert the others. I was terrified. But then we hit the tarmac fine and I realized I was sitting off vertical. Later I was to understand that in fact I was suffering from vertigo at that moment. It was an awful moment in my life for I really thought I would die and all the unsuspecting passengers would too.

I feel this way now for I think we are being killed by our meds and the vaccines that are being now forced on the world. I know this is by design and pray it is not a conscious design but just another example of the greed of the pharmaceuticals and the compliance of everyone who can make a decision in their favour whether Government Health departments or physicians and to me the world at large has opted into this as the way to go and no one is screaming "We are all going to die". Am I just not sitting vertical and everything is alright or am I right? It is a great problem for me to try always to deal correctly in the world.

My faith in Homeopathy and the Bach Flower Remedies comes from actual observations of myself and others getting well when using the remedies. It is a reality I can attest to.

My feelings about vaccines and medicines being foisted on us comes more from reading news and doing research on the various medicines. It also comes to some extent from watching You Tube and such programs like Kymatica and Ian R. Crane talking about COdex Alimenarius. Am I the result of hearsay? Is Monsanto an upstanding citizen of the world or a greedy corporation who cares little for anything but the bottom line and how to make more money by controlling people and the market?

When I am told that Genetically Modified grains do not have the same amount of nutrients in them and that soon we are going to have restrictions on supplement dose sizes and that nutrient values will no longer be put on packaging I have to ask myself am I nuts or are we being weakened by what Governments are opting into? Am I off horizontal or what?

If you have a moment think about this and send me a note. I hate being off in my judgments.

The way we die!!!

I find it unpleasant to write a title like that for I am just another person here on earth and how do I know how we die anymore than the rest of us do.

Once upon a time in Germany in the late 1700s about 1790 the medical profession was not doing very well getting people better. Leaches, bloodletting, purges and a plethora of mystical personal systems were the medical rages.

Samuel Hahnemann came along with a system that did not injure or invade the systems of the patient with harmful medicines.

He came up with the logical idea that the body was strong on its own and dis-ease and disease could be alleviated by pushing the core of the system, the immune system to do its work and not by killing or suppressing any symptoms at all. Hahnemann discovered Homeopathy as a way to heal.

Homeopathy is a different way of thinking. It is safe, efficient at healing, and best of all for the people it is very cheap. Much of it can be practiced at home for acute situations and I as a person in 2009, 210 years later can say this is true. My personal experiences of over 20 years and my experience in helping thousands of just ordinary people deciding what to take to heal has been positive more than 90% of the time.

Here we are now 210 years later and the tally can be taken; in health, in cost of service, in effectiveness and in the damage to people through side effects, addiction, malpractice, and worst of all massive cost of drugs and vaccines needed to sustain this erroneous idea of healing.

The medical profession and its partners the pharmaceutical companies of the world are our executioners. This does not mean that medicine has not done some great good and found ways to help dysfunctional people. This is about normal every day health we all supposedly start with at birth.

It has never been different and Hahemann’s statement that “he pitied the patients who came to see him for it seemed his medical training for he was a doctor only gave him ways of destroying the patient”, sparked him to research and look for other answers.

Out of this dissatisfaction with the medical paradigm Homeopathy was created.

Homeopathy has been constantly attacked and debunked by the medical/pharma fraternity since it first appeared.

The pharmaceutical industry attacks hardest and it always has from the beginning. Homeopathic remedies were minute so they could not charge for it by weight. It took time to make and a clean lab: they would lose money. It did not matter that the people got better.

It is the same today. Once a patient caught in the medical paradigm and you are a patient for life. The pharmaceuticals are determined to make this a fact and through their control of WHO and every government they can control this is happening.

Vaccines are a key to this. Trumpeted as the answer to the fight against nature everyone is slowly being forced into taking them or being ostracized like the herbalists in the 15th century were, called witches and burned when possible.

The Governments of the world are for the most part setting laws up that will limit our choices of healing systems. All other Governments are being pushed as hard as possible into this paradigm.

Forced vaccines are how in the end we will die. Antibiotics are how we will die. Bad nutrition through genetically altered foods that have not enough nutrients is how we will be weakened.

Laws against selling the very nutrient supplements lacking in our genetically modified foods adds to this weakening of the human.

By grace, good fortune and the many healers who are doctors of Homeopathy we can see their record over the time since Hahnemann began in 1800. Even today we can examine very well run hospitals, clinics, private practices and patients in India and several European countries and North and South America. Millions are helped every year.

Injury to the person through addiction and side effects does not exist in Homeopathy and death through malpractice is rare. In all plagues and epidemics Homeopathy has been much more effective than medicines. Do the research and be amazed. It is true.

Even I, an everyday person, can attest to the efficacy of Anas Barbariae 200C as a flu remedy and have seen my own eyes it successfully used on film sets to fight flu hundreds of times. This is true wherever my kits are used. It is a fact. Boiron even did an empirical testing to satisfy the FDA that testing like other drugs finds the remedy effective.

Put the systems side by side and count the dollars the medical and pharmaceutical companies are costing the world. Count the deaths through malpractice and mis-dosing.
Count the hospital deaths due to errors. It is huge. Add to that the cost of vaccines and the state of stress and fear encouraged and created in people around the world. All this is created and we poor humans have fallen for the bait. Not only that once in the system always in the system, stung for life.

Homeopathy beats Medicine in a heartbeat when it comes to keeping people well.
The medical credo is clear “At first do no harm”. Homeopathy obeys that first rule.
Medicine has co-opted a word associated with war “Collateral damage”. We all think this is just those poor folk that fell prey to medicines and got ill for life or died, but in fact we are all falling prey to medicines. We are all victims, each and every one of us.

So it is easy to see how we will die individually and as a species. Perhaps some will survive as mutants to rise again to despoil the paradise we inhabit and the gift of life we have been given, much like the viruses who mutate and make our antibiotics useless and our vaccines not today’s cup of tea.

The blind are faithful to their lack of sight.

Robert S. McNamara, Architect of a Futile War, Dies at 93

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/07/us/07mcnamara.html?th&emc=th

It is sad to read the hindsight of this man who was part of the great failed American strategies of his era. It does show us that directions of even great nations can be so totally wrong and the price paid is ongoing when the damage is irrevocable. The Vietnamese war was just a part of America's follies after the second world war and this article puts some perspective on some of these follies.

I contend that America is leading the world in an even greater folly with its efforts to fight the natural world we find ourselves in by disrupting the balances in both nature and man. In the article it say first and foremost that it is critical to know the enemy. I contend that we think we know ourselves and the world we live in but we are myopic and clutch onto what seems a good idea of how to manage our world: by resistance instead of going with the flow and strengthening both ourselves and how we deal with the problems of cultivation for food. It does not help that the motivators of the thrust to kill our enemies in nature and man are driven by profit as a first motive and good management of our natural and personal human resources second.

Like the great media machine that directed our thinking regarding our enemies and our responses after the second world war we are following this media machine again in our treatment of ourselves and our habitat. Examination by those who are thoughtful about our directions have tried without success to moderate our thinking. The doubters were around in McNamara's time as well and were not listened too for it is hard to be paid attention to when the profit mongers have captured and control the podium of the world; the media.

I strive as best I can to elicit curiosity in every post I make. It is the curiosity to examine what we are as a complete entity and to question how we are treating ourselves in spite of the growing knowledge that the body can manage itself without being invaded by drugs and vaccines. How we have survived this long in time without trying to offset the balance inside our wonderful bodies.

It is interesting to note that most if not all the people who have died due to the current Swine Flu pandemic have all been already compromised with underlying illnesses that have weakened the individual. The Swine flu is the end of the line of weakening the body not the culprit of the prime destruction. Each of us who gets a vaccine will be paying the price of enslaving our systems to a parade of vaccines to 'protect' us when in fact these vaccines are weakening our overall ability to care for ourselves.

I encourage everyone who reads this to examine what we are doing and come to their own conclusions. It is our duty to ourselves.

HOW TO DIE?

Every 15 years the New York Times columnist THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN tell us that “we will add 1 billion people to the earth.” Who is kidding whom?

Will we die along with the depleted land from the chemicals used to make enough corn, wheat, rice and soy beans to sustain us? Will we die of the toxic chemicals put into our bodies at the control of the world pharmaceutical companies? The United States soon make rotovirus and influenza vaccinations mandatory. They already do with many of the infant and childhood vaccines. We have a right to ask our governments to rethink their actions. We have a responsibility to question the direction our world is taking.

The immune system that is a central part of all of us is the master guardian of the entity human. The immune system is being breached and weakened with every Pharmaceutical that enters it. Think about this for a second. Every vaccine you have taken has breached your core system and taken away some of the immune system's choices thereby limiting future possibilities of core actions to keep your entire system in balance. [use scientific terms and data like platelet count, T-cells, etc. How do we understand the immune system?]

Using Agent Orange, Roundup or future chemicals intended to annihilate insects and weeds create succeeding generations of those pests with genetic modifications to resist the insecticides. Unintended death to needed vegetation and reproductive flowers occur at a massive level. Pesticides have no brain, they kill everything in its path. It will kill us too. If you watch the news you will know it is killing the bee population of the world, a key partner to our own survival because bees pollinate our plants.

Fertilizers devastate our crops and supporting soil and deplete the nutrients held within the soil. Genetically modified [GM] crop lands can change the make-up of the diversity of our natural vegetation and create sterilization of seeds.

We are being hurled like a rush of lemmings over the cliff of extinction.

Most people, especially younger people, laugh and say you only live once when asked to think about MAN as going the way of the dodo. They shield themselves in a protective place called denial, where logical realization and its consequences become overwhelming. Taking a close look at actual repercussions of our past actions tell the story. The flu vaccine promoted by the US Government in the 1976 Swine Flu season resulted in a woman who needed leg braces to walk and neurological damage. The forced vaccination of babies and kids will suffer untold damage and destroy family lives. We take our chances that our own damage will be minimal and some of us will get through life without a problem and for more and more there are real palpable negative results.

Forced vaccination damages human life in unseen ways. Antibiotics take away parts of our immune systems. We are all compromised internally by this.

The rest of the Pharmaceutical Pandora's box of anti-depressants, sleeping pills, arthritis medications etc. play an ongoing role in our demise. The problem of addiction to some medicines is just the most overt fallout of the side effects created and newsworthy. Lack of focus and negative emotional states can strike even the modest users and are endured as the price of relief.

So to all of us alive now, we have to ask, how can we stay alive and protect our immune systems so we will be healthy till we die? Good health is a matter of personal choice and appropriate action. I hope enough of us speak out loud enough to force governments to turn around and create laws that will benefit the health and wellbeing of it’s citizens. It is a necessary and important step in protecting ourselves. Speak out with your pen and your voice!
